Small businesses and private nonprofits in the declared counties with economic losses from a drought beginning on April 21 can apply for SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans (up to $2 million; agricultural producers, farmers and ranchers are not eligible except aquaculture). Economic injury applications are due January 6, 2027; covered counties include Alabama: Jackson, Lauderdale.

Downtown Improvement Grant (Tennessee Main Street)
Grants of up to $300,000 for Tennessee Main Street programs and Tennessee Downtowns alumni to fund downtown facade improvements (at least half the project) plus signage, streetscape and similar work, with a 25% match. The 2026 round (July 7 - August 28, 2026) is closed; the program has opened each July, so the next round is expected around July 2027.
